Vitamin D helps control MS gene

The first evidence of how vitamin D deficiency and genetics interact to increase the risk of multiple sclerosis has been reported by researchers. “Here we show that the main environmental risk candidate – vitamin D – and the main gene region are directly linked and interact.” A UK and Canadian team found that vitamin D helps to control a gene known to increase MS risk, the PLoS Genetics journal reports… Read More

Chlamydia – no, not that one!

The following excerpt is from an article in the April 1999 edition of The Reporter (a newsletter published by Vanderbilt University).  It really helped me understand how I became infected with Cpn and how as a hidden infection it becomes chronic without the body even knowing it is there.  It might also help your understanding as well. “Say Chlamydia pneumoniae and before you get to pneumoniae most people think of.. New Doctor Who for 2010: a changeling?

After sitting through the much trumpeted Doctor Who Confidential programme on BBC1 tonight I was disappointed to learn that the new Doctor is to be a young actor named Matt Smith, who is 26 and looks about 16, with the boy-band hair in the eyes look.  He also has the look of  “Odo” from Deep Space Nine who has trouble with the fine detail of human physiognomy…is the new Doctor.. The evidence mounts up…

Infection with a common bacteria could be the switch that turns on the autoimmune response in multiple sclerosis (MS) according to the findings of Wayne State University PhD graduate, Derek Lenz, now of the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, Calif. He described the work he carried out as part of Robert Swanborg’s team at Wayne State University School of Medicine. He said studies in rats show that an antigen.. Read More

CPN and chronic diseases

The following excerpt is from an article in the April 1999 edition of The Reporter (a newsletter published by Vanderbilt University).  It really helped me understand how I became infected with Cpn and how as a hidden infection it becomes chronic without the body even knowing it is there.  It might also help your understanding as well. “Say Chlamydia pneumoniae and before you get to pneumoniae most people think of.. J Ross & R Brand

As far as I am concerned these two made an obscene phone call, which is a criminal offence and should be prosecuted under criminal law. The fact that it was supposed to be “comedy” is neither here nor there – neither is it a defence.

Sarah Palin

I watched the televised debate with Joe Biden expecting that Ms Palin would be hilariously lost for words, but I was disappointed. There was a lot of down-home folksy verbiage from Ms Palin, acres of it that included the buzz words “change” and “maverick” at every conceivable opportunity, but very little of substance. I was also amazed that on several occasions she refused to answer the questions of the moderator,.. Read More

CAP progress

CAP Progress 17.08.08 Have had a spring clean of my schedule in that Pulses have been renumbered to account for the number of tablets taken per day. The total number of pulses so far is 12, but of those only 6 are of the total Metro.dose of 3 per day. So the next pulse due to start on 18.08.08 is numbered 7/13. (* In fact I have not renumbered pulses.).. Read More

CAP : the process

Doxy and azith are bacteriostatics, they inhibit the replication (and some Cpn die in the process) but don’t directly kill the Cpn. Flagyl/Tini are bacteriocidal, they actually kill bacteria, especially anaerobes, as well as other organisms like protozoa. One of the ways Cpn survives is by inhibiting apoptosis (natural cell deathi) of the host cell. When you force it into cryptic state you now have an “immortalized” host cell (inhibited.. Read More

CLicK,Speak a speech reader Firefox extension

Now on Firefox 6 and CLiCK,Speak seems to have gone the way of all good extensions…to the wall; the developers site has not been updated since 2008 and the extension is no longer offered on the Mozilla site. Now I am trying FoxVox and SpeechUtil to see which is the most convenient for listening to web pages and does most of what CLick,Speak did so well. **************************************************************************************************************** As the developer..
